Dramatic opera meets psychological thriller. Duke Bluebeard’s new bride, Judith, coerces him to open 7 doors in his castle, each one revealing disturbing moments of his life. What happened to all of Bluebeard’s prior brides? Will Judith meet the same gruesome fate as Bluebeard’s former wives? Can love survive the truth of one’s past?
Fox Valley Opera co-founders Brad Noffsinger Morrison and Antoinette Konow appear as Bluebeard and Judith, with Music Director J. MacArthur Willaert conducting the Fox Valley Opera Festival Orchestra in Stephen Higgins’ highly acclaimed chamber version which has been heard worldwide, including at the Edinburgh International Festival, New Zealand Opera, The Atlanta Opera, and the Beijing Music Festival.
